Celebrating the 24th of July

It seemed like there are a lot of events that lead up to the 24th celebration. The week started off with going to a Peter Brienholt concert at the amphitheater. As the concert was going on the sunset lit up the Municipal Building. There were scattered storms around. We did not know it at the time but when we went home, the roads were wet from 12th Street north from a storm.

Next it was stake Lagoon Day. It had been several years since we had been to Lagoon but we decided to go this year with the family. Payton loved most of the rides except the Lady Bug Jump. Cecelia did not like it either though.  I am not sure how Maddie liked the teacups.

There were other rides that they really enjoyed though.

What would Lagoon be without the boat rides for the kids?

We all had to do Rattlesnake Rapids to cool off and yes we did get wet.

The next event of the celebration was going to the rodeo. There are the skydivers bringing in the flag.

Then of course the bronc riding and flying.

That was followed by trick riding.

Steer wrestling.

Watching the posse to see if they would run into each other this year.

Bull riding.

Watching the kids have fun being at the rodeo.

And of course at the end watching the motorcycle jumpers. How that deals with the rodeo I don't know but they are fun to watch.

Finally everything is capped off with the parade on the 24th.
