Maddie and Josh's wedding

June 16
The night before the wedding was the time for the reception decoration at the Marriott Slaterville building across the street from Pioneer. The main event was laying out the ceiling decorations. The first step was the cords that would be used to support the plastic drape.

We then draped the plastic and began to raise it off the floor.

Once we started to raise the ceiling decoration the rope on the north side pulled out the eyelet from the wall which set us back a little. Josh's dad got the materials to cement the eyelet into the wall and after it dried it was back to raising the roof.

Then came the other decorations needed on the tables and also hanging from the ceiling. We completed our task at 2 a.m and had a short night sleep for the wedding day.

Saturday July 17
The wedding day was finally here. We went to the wedding site and set up the chairs and all the decorations needed down the aisle. Then it was back home to get ready.

We arrived at the site at 2:30 p.m. to get ready for the wedding at 3. It had been unusually hot the last couple of days but this day was just perfect in temperature.

There was a little delay and during that time she had to wait in the car as there was no other place for her to be.

The time for the ceremony came. The flower girls came down the aisle.

I walked Maddie down the aisle as my last single child.

Josh's Bishop performed the service and it was wonderful. There were over 100 people at the ceremony. Near the end of the service three butterflies flew over Josh and Maddie's head. We each placed different meaning to that sign but they were all good meanings.

After the ceremony the newly weds walked down the aisle and then it was time for family pictures.

The delay in the ceremony pushed back things. The dinner got done just in time for the reception to start.  It was a solid line of people with no breaks for the entire time. It was a great showing of friends and family supporting Josh and Maddie on this wonderful day as the Haas family was created.

After the newlyweds left it was time to clean up. We appreciated all the help from family that stayed to help take everything down and we were all finished by 10:30.

Last few weeks before wedding

Maddie and Josh had moved the wedding date up from August to June 17. This created a lot of things for them to do to get ready. They still had time for playing softball and having fun with some of the cousins and friends from Planet Fitness.

A week before the wedding we cleared dead limbs and mowed the site where the wedding would be held. It was a hot day and we worked hard but got things they way we wanted.

Maddie and I did our last bike ride to work together a few days before the wedding. We had spent the last month riding to work together. Once she and Josh were married  we would not be able to share this event together.

One other thing that needed to be done was getting the bridal pictures taken before the wedding. Josh and Maddie had the pictures taken by Joni at Snowbasin. Shannon went along to help Maddie with her dress. They took some wonderful pictures and here they are of my beautiful little girl and her soon to be husband.
