4th of July Celebrations

Our family likes to celebrate the holiday for more than one day. We started on the 3rd with the traditional Jennings gathering in Logan. We started off with a picnic at Willow Park. We had almost all the aunts and uncles and cousins there who were within 100 miles. It was a good gathering. Some of the younger men played ultimate frezbie and ended up drenched in sweat because it was so hot.

From there we left to go up to USU and watch the program and fireworks. This year they had an ABBA tribute band play. They were really good and had lots of people dancing in the aisles.

As you can see they even had the appearance down in their dress and hair. Then it was the fireworks. Pictures do not do it justice but they were great.

This picture is what fireworks look like through prismatic glasses. Some people in front of us had some and shared with us.

Afterwards we assemble at the Durango for watermelon and to let the traffic leave. The girls also decided to do their own chorus line. One, two, three, kick...

Carlin and her family were going to be moving to Huston Texas in a few weeks so this was also an opportunity to say good bye.

The next morning was a parade down Harrisville Road. Payton got her bike decorated and was at the front of the pack as they went down the road. Connor was a little slower and not quite sure if he liked it, but he did enjoy the candy.

There was a breakfast afterwards and then we relaxed for the day until evening. We went to a picnic at Nancy's while some went to other places. We met again at Farr West for their fireworks that evening. Kind of looks like a drive-in theater doesn't it?

The next couple of nights we had quick storms in the evening which helped cool things down from the constant 100 degree weather. They left their own light show with some beautiful sunsets.
