Summer Concerts

July brought with it several outdoor concerts. We went to a couple at the Layton amphitheater and then one at Ogden's as well as the annual concert at Weber State. We went to the Layton ones with our friends the Muellers. The first one was Eric Hansen who sang songs of Karen Carpenter, Carol King and Linda Ronstadt. It was a nice concert and we even sat through a rain storm at the end.

We then had the concert and fireworks at Weber State to kick off the 24th celebration. We had our usual spot at the north end of the pond.

The next was a tribute to an old member of the Harrisville area, Don Kennington. He passed away earlier this year and was famous for his cowboy poetry.  We went with Allen and Kathy Whetton and the Lovelands since we all knew him and the family. It was a good cowboy tribute to Don and three of the groups were from Harrisville, the Anderson's, Iversons and Kenningtons.

The last band of the month was Imagine which is a Beatles tribute band. When you know the words to every song sung you know the music had an impact on you. They dressed and acted the part which is what made it enjoyable.
