We took the family a few weeks before Thanksgiving to Disney on Ice. It was wonderful to be together and to watch the faces of the Connor and Payton as the different characters came out to skate. It was the Disney heroes for Payton and the animals for Connor that brought a smile to their faces. It brought smiles to our faces to watch them enjoy the evening.
The holiday was good to be together. We played games and had good food.
The Saturday after Thanksgiving was the annual Christmas tree hunt. We had to go to Montpelier since Preston had sold out of tree permits. As we went over the pass we were amazed at how dry it was. Once we got the permit we were able to drive up from off the main road a good distance this year. We had to find some snow to walk in. Connor had no idea what to do with the snow and stood frozen not daring to move. After a while he warmed up to it but was really cautious. We found our perfect trees and Shannon and Maddie cut down and hauled their own tree off the hill while Nic and I brought down the monster tree. Cameron and Cecelia got their first Christmas tree. We got to the vehicles and showed our efforts from the "hunt".
It was a great time and the weather was wonderful for being near the end of November. We were amazed at how high up on the mountain we had driven. We looked out over the valley and watched the sun light up the hills. The sun then lighted the clouds and made a wonderful sunset to bring an end to our day.
